Having been to various funerals over the past couple of years. It was an eye-opening experience attending the funeral of our Tamil Church pastor on Monday. It was a grand-ish sendoff at Dewan Glad Tidings, I must say, with the full worship team and vocals leading the service and all. The minister who preached gave a very charismatic and uplifting message although he is from a Methodist background. It went very much the Pentecostal way, with tongues spoken during worship and prayers.
Some thoughts came to mind... if the funerals weren't conducted the Pentecostal way, will we be uncomfortable? What makes a Pentecostal funeral? Is there such a thing?
